It’s all in the mix … Blending fabrics and finishes!

Perhaps you have stainless steel appliances in your kitchen and brushed nickel faucets. How do you add a rustic touch with your cabinetry hardware and have it all work? Try a hammered pewter or a burnished gun metal! It’s still in the same tones as the other silvers but can add a mountain feel. In a great room, adding a copper or gold accessory can provide that surprise element. Try a mixture of different toned metals and wood frames on your gallery wall. You would be surprised how much fun you can have with this!

Linens, open weaves, luscious cut velvets and matelassés can all be shown in neutrals, yet the texture on texture adds so much depth. Fabric sheens can capture light in different ways and catch your eye when exploring a design. A fur or mohair accent pillow gives that warm cozy feel but still looks rich and elegant. There are so many amazing fabrics out there… so be adventurous and start blending!
